Whether it be interpreting photographs taken by others through collage or capturing my own images, a single picture can hold a complex story. This sentiment guides my personal, artistic, and professional growth.
Photography
A selection of photographs primarily taken with a 2004 Olympus Digital 500 camera I bought secondhand in Scotland, recording my nomadic lifestyle. It has become a close friend and collaborator, detached from an increasingly digitally connected world that can feel all-consuming, overwhelming, and creatively stifling. On view here are some of my favorite photographs from more recent adventures, a love letter to beautiful moments that blossom within a constantly shifting lifestyle.
Slide Photograph Collection
I collect found slide photographs, which provide windows into the past lives of strangers, friends, and family. My 1,000+ slide collection spans the 1940s to the early 2000s, and can be categorized by subject matter, person or place of origin, or theme. On occasion, my family and I host slideshows among friends.
Mixed Media Collage
A collection of mixed-media collages using a variety of materials, including paint pens, oil pastels, vellum paper, found photographs, etc. Collage for me has become a study of interpretation and creative borrowing.
