BOX DOLLS
My artistic practice is driven by curiosity, multidisciplinary experimentation, and creative reuse. Some of my latest work, ‘Box Dolls’, explores themes of expression, identity, and societal restraint through colorful surrealist figures in contorted, boxed proportions. The series predominantly features Black figures and draws inspiration from mid-20th-century fashion history. Using repurposed materials, oil pastels, and acrylic paint, these paintings feature dimensional texture and bold color stories that contrast against their proportional constraint.
